Pictures Marine Life

These photos are from my private archives. I think they are too beautiful not to share. Perhaps something for you on the wall or as a postcard.

Let me know if you would like to have one of these pictures printed.

Between the pictures you will find some extra information about specific animals.

Enjoy watching these amazing creatures living below the water surface.

Beautiful and colorful invertebrates

Did You Know?
Jellyfish are about 98 percent water. Jellyfish have very simple bodies — they don’t have bones, a brain or a heart. To see light, detect smells and orient themselves, they have rudimentary sensory nerves at the base of their tentacles.

Clownfish  or Anemonefish

Clownfish or anemonefish are omnivorous feeding on undigested food from the anemones.
The fecal from the clownfish provides nutrients for the sea anemone.
Anemonefish mainly feed on small zooplankton like copepods and tunicate larvae.

Coral (reefs)

Acropora digitate

This coral is a digitate coral, with a clear polyp at the end of the finger-like branching lobes.
